Obituary for Doris Marie Erickson (Cappuccio)

Doris M. (Cappuccio) Erickson, 87, a longtime Shrewsbury resident, died peacefully on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester.

She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard R. Erickson, who died in 2008.
She leaves her four children, David Erickson of Leominster, Janice LeBlanc and her husband Arthur of Newburyport, Roger Erickson and Robert Erickson, both of Shrewsbury; her brother, Frank Capp of Studio City, CA, her five grandchildren, Andrea LeBlanc Bakland of Beverly, Lauren and Zachary Erickson of Boston, Marshall Erickson of Shrewsbury and Ross Erickson of Clinton. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Baroni) Cappuccio and lived in Shrewsbury for many years. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, and worked as a bookkeeper for several area companies during her working years. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She loved cooking, reading and walking the beach. She and her husband enjoyed vacationing many summers on Wells Beach in Maine. Doris was a longtime member of the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Victor Quaranta American Legion Post in Shrewsbury.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Doris’ family on Tuesday February 5th from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 6th at 10 AM in the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 34 Prospect Street, Shrewsbury. Following cremation, burial in Mountain View Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation in memory of Doris be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
