Edward V. “Ted” Elia, 91, of Auburn died Monday, December 29, 2014 after an illness.

He leaves his loving wife and favorite dance partner, Bette A. (King) Elia; four children, Craig D. Bylund and his fiancé Lynn Garneau of Auburn, Jeffrey J. Bylund of Auburn, April A. Bylund of Worcester and Julie M. Walsh and her husband, Timothy of Auburn; eight grandchildren; Tony, Amanda, Nicholas, Erika, Bryanna, Emily, Karinna, and Andrew. Three great grandchildren; Mariah, Lilyana, and Aria. A brother, Rocci A. Elia and his companion, Freida Burrell of Lakeland, Florida and a sister, Euphemia Parker and her husband, Richard of Centerville, MA and Lakeland, Florida; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Francis Elia and a sister, Julia Elia Harges.

Ted was born and raised in Clinton, son of the late Rosario and Mary (DeNapoli) Elia. He attended Clinton High School and then entered into the service where he served honorably during W.W. II with the United States Army Air Corp.

Ted had worked for many years as a salesman for BASF until he retired. He then worked for Sam’s club until he decided to fully retire and enjoy gardening and watching after his grandchildren.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the Staff at The Lutheran Home, especially Leah and Ben, for all the love and attention they gave to Ted.

Funeral and burial services for Edward will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
