Raymond S.  Odgren
AUBURN- Raymond S. Odgren, 89, longtime resident of Auburn died Monday, November 9, 2015 in Vibra Hospital in Leicester after an illness surrounded by his loving family.

Ray was born in Worcester, son of the late John V. and Emma V. (Holm) Odgren. He served his country honorably with the United States Coast Guard during W.W. II.

Ray was the beloved husband of 63 years to Priscilla A. (Olson) Odgren; loving father of Jeffrey Odgren and his wife, Ann of Boyertown, PA, Stephen Odgren and his wife, Amy of Eau Claire, WI, Thomas Odgren and his wife, Liz of Middleton, WI, Jane Bercier and her husband, Brian of Oxford and Carol Gaumond and her husband, Ken of Auburn; adored grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson; also survived by several nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Holger, John, Ellen, Roy, Ruth and Warren.

Earlier in his life, Ray had worked for several years as a tile setter for Kesseli & Morse and later as a custodian at Bryn Mawr Elementary School in Auburn before he retired.

Ray loved life. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family who he cherished with all his heart. He was a proud man with a generous heart who gave the best hugs!! Ray enjoyed the game of golf, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden and he especially loved singing in the choir at Bethel Lutheran and with the Worcester Men of Song Chorus. He also was a Scoutmaster for Troop # 102 at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ray’s family on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A service celebrating Ray’s life will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11 AM in Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Auburn. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Memorial Fund at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Auburn, MA 01501.
