Ernest "Lenny"  Johnson
AUBURN- Ernest “Lenny” Johnson, 98, of Auburn died unexpectedly Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Saint Vincent Hospital.

His wife, Florence E. (Leach) Johnson died in 2008. He leaves his two children, Timothy Johnson and his wife Judy of East Falmouth and Julianna Johnson of Millbury; a close family friend Pam Canane of Millbury; two grandchildren, Tammie Boyle and her husband Andre of Oxford and Kristin Mongeon and her husband, Eric of Auburn; a great grandson, Bryan Langlais of Oxford and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Roy and Vincent Johnson and a sister, Shirley Farnon.

Ernest was born in Paxton, son of the late Carl and Anna (Sungren) Johnson. His family later moved to Auburn where he graduated from Auburn High School. He had worked as a machinist for the Henry L. Hanson Company for over 30 years before he retired.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed making and repairing small clocks throughout his life. Ernest was a member of the Joel H Prouty Masonic Lodge in Auburn and a member of Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Worcester. He served as president of the residence council at Eddy Pond/Brookdale Assisted Living Community in Auburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mr. Johnson’s family on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 9:00-10:15AM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A funeral service will follow at 11:00AM in Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge St, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 695 Southbridge St, Worcester, MA 01610 or to Cape Abilities, Independence Park 895 Mary Dunn Road, Hyannis, MA 02601.
