Obituary for David C. "Dave" Hall Sr.

David C. "Dave"  Hall Sr.
NORTH OXFORD- David C. “Dave” Hall, Sr., 76, of North Oxford, formerly of Auburn died Sunday, April 3, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Walter J. and Evelyn (Blanchard) Hall. He graduated from Commerce High School in 1957 where he played center on the football team and later joined the United States Coast Guard. Dave made a career of 30 years as a Foreman with the former New England Telephone now known as Verizon retiring in 1990. He was a member of New England Pioneers.

Dave was a true New England Sports Fan. For five years Dave was captain of the press box crew responsible for recording all the Boston Patriots and opponents game activity and statistics from the early days at Fenway Park to the teams earliest days at Foxboro. He also enjoyed following politics, making blue birdhouses for family and friends and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Gail A. (Remillard) Hall; two sons, David C. Hall, Jr., of Auburn and Christopher J. Hall and his wife, Melissa of Auburn, and his Daughter-in-law Michelle (Longueil) Hall also of Auburn; four grandchildren, Devin M. Hall, Julia A. Hall, Zachary D. Hall and Declan C. Hall; a sister, Barbara Petrozzi and her husband, Frank of Worcester; also survived by several nieces and nephews. An infant son Michael D Hall and a brother Walter J Hall Jr predecease him.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Richard Palken, and all the caregivers, volunteers and family who assisted in keeping Dave in the comfort of his home.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dave’s family on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be on Friday, April 8, 2016 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St North, Auburn. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Memorial donations in his name may be made to; VNA Care, Network and Hospice 120 Thomas Street, Worcester Ma 01608.
