AUBURN – Joyce (Publicover) Bylund, 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 4, 2016 at the Life Care Center in Auburn following a battle with cancer. Joyce was the daughter of Stephen and Elsie (Perks) Publicover. She was born in Worcester and a lifelong resident of Auburn. She attended Auburn Public Schools.

Her husband, Eric Bylund, died on June 4th, 2002. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary that April with family and friends.

She leaves two children, Debra J. Fegreus and her husband William and Steven E. Bylund and his wife Mary, all of Auburn; 4 grandsons, Scott Swenson and his wife Claire, Paul Swenson and his wife Tracey, Anders and Richard Bylund; two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Hailey Swenson.

She also leaves her loving companion of many years, Robert Blanchard of Worcester; two sisters, Ruth Johnson and her husband Donald of Auburn, Elaine Pescaro and her husband George of Northborough, a sister-in-law Sallie Bylund of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and her best friend Carol Zaltzberg of Millbury, several nieces and nephews.

Joyce held many different jobs over the years including being an Avon Lady for over 30 years. The role she enjoyed most was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and entertaining family and friends at the home she and Eric built on Stoneville Reservoir.

The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care and a special thanks to Bob and the entire Blanchard family for their tremendous support.

Calling hours will be on Thursday September 8th, 2016 from 10:00-11:30am in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St, Auburn. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Memorial donations can be made to the Auburn Community Assistance Fund, 21 Pheasant Ct. Auburn, MA 01501.
