Margaret E.  Sjoberg (Johnson)
Margaret E. (Johnson) Hanks Sjoberg, 87, of Auburn died Friday, November 4, 2016 in the Life Care Center of Auburn.

Margaret was born in Worcester and raised in Auburn, daughter of the late J. Harold and Ingrid (Lindgren) Johnson. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1947.

Margret started her working career at Heald Machine in Worcester prior to her marriage to Harold in 1951. After her marriage, she became a loving full time mother and devoted wife. When her children were grown and in school full time she returned to the work force as a secretary for seventeen years for Griggs and Brown Pest Control in Worcester.

Margaret was a proud member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was once very active in the Sunday School Program. She was also a former member of the VASA Order of America. Margaret was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting many “Sunday Dinners”.

She leaves her children, David W. Hanks and his wife, Jennifer of Lecanto, Florida and Donald W. Hanks and his wife, Ann of Charlton and Robert P. Hanks and his wife, Debra of Auburn; also survived by 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her two husbands, Harold “Red” Hanks and Robert S. Sjoberg.

The family would like to thank the dedicated people for their help from LCC of Auburn and New England Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Margaret’s family on Thursday November 10, 2016 from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM in Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Auburn. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Auburn Fire and Rescue, 47 Auburn Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
