Obituary for Ruth M. Skrip

Ruth M.  Skrip
Ruth M. (Vaitkunas) Skrip, 91, a longtime Auburn resident passed from this world on Friday November 18, 2016.

Ruth was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Petronela (Aranskas) Vaitkunas. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1943 and later from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1946.

Ruth had worked as a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital in the Maternity Ward for many years before she retired. She was a member of the Women’s Auxillary of the Polish American Veterans; she also enjoyed bowling and was a member of a women’s league for over 33 years. She was a volunteer for Pernet Family Health Service and the Little Sisters of The Assumption.

Her loving husband of 64 years, Leo Skrip died in 2011. She leaves behind her children, Carolyn R. Bergeron and her husband, Norman of Auburn, Susan M. Dobson and her husband Dana in Coldwell, Idaho, Thomas L. Skrip and his wife, Gail of Oxford, Deborah M. Pasqualetti of St. Cloud, Florida, Pamela M. Callahan and her husband, James of Millbury, Joseph L. Skrip and his wife Joanne of Worcester and Dr. Michael L. Skrip and his husband James Brown of Boston; also survived by 11 grandchildren , 9 Great grandchildren; a brother, Edmund Vaitkunas and his wife Barbara of Auburn and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Isabelle Hober who died in 2012.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruth’s family on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 3:00-5:00pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be on Monday from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 am in St. Brigid’s Church, 59 Main Street, Millbury. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph’s Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Memorial donations may be made to the Pernet Family Health Service, 237 Millbury Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
