Obituary for Francis R. "Frannie" Croteau

Francis R. “Frannie” Croteau, 83, of Charlton passed away Sunday March 26, 2017 with his family by his side.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years Ann Marie (O’Brien) Croteau in 2011. He leaves his children, Scott and his wife Missy of Pomfret, CT, Barbara McMahon and her husband Brian of Rutland, Brian and his wife Angel of Galion, Ohio and five grandchildren, Kate, Amanda, Davey, Emily and Shannon and a niece, Kathleen Chaban and her husband Yosef of Worcester; a sister in-law, Maureen Daignault and her husband Paul of Auburn. He was predeceased by four siblings, Bernard, Elaine, Bea and Paul.

Frannie was born and raised in Auburn son of the late Edward and Josephine (Delude) Croteau. He attended Worcester Boys Trade School and later received his Associates in Electronic Engineering for Worcester Junior College and a Bachelor’s of Engineering Technology from Northeastern University. Frannie served his county proudly as a Staff Sergeant with the United States Air Force.

He had worked as an electrical engineer for Picker International for many years.

Frannie was a member of a Saint Joseph’s Parish in Auburn and was a founding member of the Auburn Lodge of Elks. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren who brought him so much joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Frannie’s family on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday April 1, 2017 with a funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Roch’s Cemetery, Oxford.
