Obituary for Delores M. Paladino Peters

Delores “Debbie” Paladino Peters died unexpectedly on May 5, 2017, on the eve of National Nurses Week, a profession she held dear to her heart.

Born in Worcester, MA, the first child of Francis and Carmela Paladino, she attended Commerce High School, and Worcester City Hospital Nursing School. Debbie rose through the ranks, working in Worcester, Boston, and the Netherlands, both teaching and practicing cardiac nursing.

After returning to the United States, she met her husband of almost 35 years, Charles Peters, whom she leaves behind. Additionally, she is survived by her six siblings, Margaret Barry and her husband John, Constance Cooney, Carole Kelly, Frances Fitzpatrick, Salvatore Paladino, and Dona DeSantis and her husband Louis. Her multiple godchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families will miss her dearly.

Debbie was the ultimate caretaker, often putting her own life on hold to tend to the needs of her parents, mother-in-law, and eventually husband Charlie.
Forever the trailblazer, “Aunt Deb” had a zest for life and an unwavering positive attitude. For her, time well spent included gardening, antiquing, gourmet cooking, traveling off the beaten path, and attending the opera. Above all else, she was a devoted wife and constant cheerleader for her large and loving family, for which her legacy will never be forgotten.

Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Her burial will be held privately in the Worcester County Memorial Park Cemetery, Paxton, MA. A memorial service will be held by her family in the near future. Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury is assisting Delores’s family with the arrangements.
