James P. “Jim” Fancy, 60, of Auburn died July 1, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family that he cherished after a three-year long battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Worcester son of the late Edward E. and Edith E. (Dionne) Fancy. He graduated from Auburn High School and continued his education at Bay Path Vocational School for two years.

For 27 years Jim owned and operated his own home improvement business working with his brother Edward side by side for most of those years until he retired due to his illness.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Ann M. (Gervais) Fancy; his children, Christopher J. Fancy of Auburn, Stephen E. Fancy and his fiancée Kersten Laveroni of Maryland and Nicole A. Fancy of Auburn; his devoted brother, Edward J. Fancy of Auburn; his aunt Ruth Dionne, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Theresa J. Fancy.

When Jim was not working, he enjoyed fishing, boating and watching the Patriots and Celtics with his family.

At Jim’s request funeral services and burial will be held privately.
