Obituary for John J Tambolleo

John J. Tambolleo, 82, of Shrewsbury MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

John was born in Clinton, son of the late Frank and Philomena (Gonnelli) Tambolleo. John was one of thirteen children, he started working at an early age to help support his family. He worked at Henley Lundgren Asphalt for over 40 years. In his retirement years, he continued to work by helping his brother Joe at TAM’S Model A, in West Boylston.

He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Alhambra Council # 88 in Worcester and Teamsters Local 170. He served in the US Marine Corps. His summers were filled with days on the lake and family cookouts. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida with his wife.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Sheila (Jones) Tambolleo, four children, Steven Tambolleo and companion Paula Dewar of Groton, Cynthia (Tambolleo) Martelli and husband Dennis Martelli of Northborough, Kenneth Tambolleo and wife Barbara of Worcester, Gary Tambolleo and wife Peggy of Worcester. His thirteen grandchildren Jason, Jared, Sarah, Priscilla, Kristi Lea, Tiffany, Jillian, Joseph, Dominic, Tauny, Stephanie, Amelie, and Gary Jr., thirteen great grandchildren, seven sisters and three brothers. John leaves behind a large extended family with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by one grandson, Steven Tambolleo Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family on Sunday December 3, 2017 from 2-5 pm in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury.

His funeral will be on Monday December 4, 2017 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 am in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).
