William H.K. "Bill" Maguire Jr.
William H.K. “Bill” Maguire, Jr., 90, formerly of Shrewsbury died peacefully Saturday February 24, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Chicopee and raised on Main Street in Shrewsbury son of the late William H.K. Maguire, Sr., and Florilda (Adams) Maguire. He graduated from Major Howard Beal High School and later enlisted into the United States Navy having served during World War II.

After his service to his country he married the love of his life, Madelyn J. Bryant in 1947 and together they had a wonderful life. Bill had owned and operated several businesses throughout his lifetime, he was most notably known for Aries Advertising Company and New England Resorts.

When he was not hard at work, he loved being surrounded by his growing family. Bill was very proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed spreading his Irish charm and singing an Irish tune everywhere he traveled. He loved to dance with his “favorite girl” Madelyn and he appreciated the outdoors as well; always finding time to go fishing, playing a round or two of golf or gardening is his yard.

Bill leaves behind his beautiful wife of 70 years, Madelyn; his three daughters, Sharon Lindgren and her husband Robert of North Oxford, Laurie Brunelle and her husband Stephen of Worcester and Holly Dufrense of Auburn; seven wonderful grandchildren, Amy, Scott, Sara, Justin, Michael, John and Alissa and thirteen great grandchildren.

To remember Bill and for his great sense of humor and Irish Spirit, please wear something green in honor of his favorite color when you join his family on Friday March 16th for his funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial with military honors will take place in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Followed by “An Irish Celebration” at 1:00 pm at the Italian American Victory Club, 26 Dewey Road, Shrewsbury.
