DANBURY, CT/NORTHBOROUGH, MA - Leonard J. McGlynn, former longtime resident of Northborough, died Monday March 19, 2018 in Danbury Hospital. He was 96.
Leonard was born on March 8, 1922 in Dudley, MA to his parents, the late Edward J. and Anna B. (Lavery) McGlynn. He was raised in Worcester and graduated from North High School. He worked for many years as the Manager of Manufacturing Construction World Wide for Data General Corporation, which was acquired by EMC/Dell Technologies after his retirement in 1987.
Leonard loved the game of golf and was a patient and devoted teacher of the sport. He was a member of the Retired Men’s Club of Greendale.
He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Ellen (Charbonneau) McGlynn; two daughters, Maureen M. Chakraborty and Kathlyn M. Logan; eight grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Leonard J. McGlynn, Jr. and Michael McGlynn; and two brothers, James and Robert McGlynn.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Leonard’s family on Monday April 2, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 am in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A prayer service celebrating his life will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
