Obituary for Milton R. Landry Jr.

Milton R. Landry, Jr., 54 of San Francisco and formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2018 surrounded by his wife and family. He struggled with and finally succumbed to cancer.

Milton, the twelfth of fourteen children, was born in Worcester. He was the son of Barbara A. (Gregory) Landry and the late Milton R. Landry, Sr.

Following his graduation from Shrewsbury High School in 1982, he attended and graduated from East Coast Aerotech in 1983 and later worked for United Airlines as an aircraft mechanic for the past 29 years.

Milton enthusiastically embraced life. He deeply loved his family on the east coast as well as his family of neighbors, coworkers and friends that Milton and his loving wife, Shirley made on the west coast. Milton had a very generous spirit and was always ready to help anyone in need, whether he knew them or not. He loved traveling and connecting with people all over the world. Milton was very grateful to God for all the blessings he had in his life and God blessed his family for putting Milton in their lives.

Milton will greatly be missed by his loving wife, Shirley (Travis) Landry; his stepdaughter, Leslie Anderson; his step granddaughter Desiree Anderson; his mother, Barbara Landry; his brothers, Charles Landry; Joseph Landry and his partner, Cheryl Hogan; Paul Landry and his wife, Ellen; Peter Landry, David Landry and his wife, Nancy; Stephen Landry and his wife, Michele; Christopher Landry and his wife, Denise; his sisters, Lynn Couture; Susan Burns and her husband, Walter; Barbara Shea; Mary Landry and her wife, Betty Brigham; Carolyn Leonard and her husband, Martin. Milton is also survived by his mother-in-law, Joyce Griffin, many nieces and nephews, members of the Anderson family and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Milton R. Landry, Sr.; his brother, Richard M. Landry, his brother-in-law, Paul H. Couture, Jr.; and his father-in-law, Rev. Morris Griffin, Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Milton’s family on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4:00-7:00PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday, May 18, 2018 in St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to a charity of your choice.
