Obituary for Kelly Ann Bishop (McClelland)

Kelly Ann (McClelland) Bishop, 41, of Auburn died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Worcester. She was the wife of Todd J. Bishop, with whom she shared 17 wonderful years.

In addition to her husband, Kelly is survived by her daughters Avery Bishop, and Lily Bishop, her mother Ann E. (Casey) Harper and her husband Leo of Corpus Christi, TX, her grandmother Doris Casey of Warminster, PA, and grandmother Jocelyn McClelland of Levittown, PA, siblings Karen McClelland of Worcester, Natalie McClelland of Warminster, PA, Ashley Damiani, of Italy, Amanda McClelland of Warminster, PA, Stacie Harper of Warminster, PA, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of Ann E. (Casey) Harper and the late William J. McClelland. Following her 1994 graduation from Waubonsie High School in Aurora, IL, she received a Bachelor’s Degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Lynchburg, VA with a major in English and a minor in Religious Studies, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

It was not long before she found her niche working in public relations. Prior to deciding to stay at home to focus on her family, Kelly worked at UMass Memorial Medical Center in the Public Relations Office. Kelly first met Todd in the fall of 1997 and they were married in 2001 and lived in New York and Houston before relocating to Worcester where they began their family. While raising their family, they decided to move to Auburn.

While she found so much pleasure raising and providing for her family, she often found time to indulge in reading and writing. However, she found true pleasure in time spent with her family, most of all her adoring daughters.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kelly's family on Wednesday, June 20th between 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with a Celebration of Life Ceremony for Kelly immediately following visitation in the chapel of the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kelly’s memory can be made to National Public Radio, https://help.npr.org/customer/portal/topics/827522-donations/articles .
