I only met John Mollo once, but in that meeting, within less than a minute, he made me feel as though we had known each other for years.
While dropping Julie Mollo off at home for the holidays, John discovered that I am both from New York and a marginal (at best) fan of the New York Giants. He immediately invited me into his garage and offered me a newspaper clipping from years prior which celebrated the Giants beating the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. I was extremely startled, to say the least, that he was so willing to part with something that he had been saving for years.
As our human interactions get more and more disconnected due to technology and the like, I am grateful that I have a lasting memory of John Mollo to remind me that we should be welcoming and invested in people we know, as well as those that randomly come into our lives.
