I am very sad today about the recent passing of one of the nicest guys I've ever known. I've known Bob for about 30 years and I consider him a very caring friend. I first met Bob when I was a Bank Manager and he opened up his store in Fitchburg. We hit it off right away, and every time he came in to the bank, he always stopped for a chat. I quickly got to think of him as the "smart guy" and I mean that in the best possible way. I could tell right away that he was very learned in many different areas. His opinions were based on an intellect that I wish I had. After a few years, Bob joined my club, the Exchange Club of Fitchburg and I spent many evenings with him, learning something every time. I got to meet Mrs. Mersereau and I give her and the rest of the family my sincere condolences. From me to Bob I say this. Thank you for your friendship, Bob. My God rest your soul until we meet again.
