Obituary for Maria Ticlea

Maria  Ticlea
STURBRIDGE – Maria Ticlea, 70, of Sturbridge died peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Monday, November 19, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Danila Ioan Ticlea with whom she shared 48 wonderful years in marriage.

Born and raised in Farcasa, Romania, the daughter of Ioan and Luiza (Blaga) Samoca, Maria settled in Cluj Napoca after meeting Danila and the two married in 1971. Maria worked as a school administrator for 15 years and truly enjoyed working in the school environment. She moved to Sturbridge in 2012 enjoying the early years of her four grandchildren.

Maria will be remembered as an optimistic and loving woman who always was smiling and had a positive attitude. She was a good friend and was always dedicated to her family who she loved so much. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survived by her sons, Alin Ticlea and his spouse Ioana Ticlea of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Ovidiu Ticlea and his spouse Ana N. Ticlea of Sturbridge, MA; grandchildren Andrea Ticlea, Christian Ticlea, Andrew Ticlea, Ana-Sophia Ticlea; dear friends, Romulus Chis and spouse Victoria, Gheorghe Ratusca and spouse Rodica, Maria was predeceased by her brother Ioan Samoca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, November 23, 2018 between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Those wishing to attend her Funeral Service are asked to join her family on Saturday, November 24 at 10:00 AM in Saint Parascheva Romanian Orthodox Church, 171 Water Street, Wakefield, MA. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Sturbridge, MA.
