Tempe, AZ Selma M. "Mary" (Kallio) Israelian, 86, passed away after a short illness on July 1st at the home she shared with her daughter, Diane Penrose and son-in- law, Michael Penrose in Tempe, Arizona. She leaves her daughter, Mary O'Mara wife of Daniel O'Mara of Melrose; two grandchildren, Garrett Holway of Chandler, AZ; Sean O'Mara of Melrose; several nieces and nephews. Selma was preceded in death by her husband, Luke S. Israelian and a son, Luke D. Israelian. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Herman and Naimi (Martinmaki) Kallio, and spent most of her life there. She worked at the former Orchard Hill Dairy and then at Crown Bakery until her retirement. She moved to Arizona in 1999. She had a great love of the outdoors and spent many of her retirement years bird watching and caring for animals.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Selma's family on Saturday, July 7th from 9-10 am at Britton –Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Selma's funeral service will be held at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11537, Alexandria, VA 22312 or to a charity that works for the protection of animals either domestic or wild.
