Obituary for Jon C. Gallivan Sr.

Jon C. Gallivan Sr.
AUBURN- Jon C. Gallivan, Sr, 48, of Auburn died Wednesday December 2, 2015 in his home.

Jon was born in Worcester and raised in Auburn the middle child of three children of Charles R. Gallivan and Joyce S. (Johnson) Gallivan of Auburn. Jon attended St John's High school 3 years and graduated from Auburn High School in 1985.

In his youth, Jon was an exceptional baseball player known for both his pitching arm and hitting ability. However his defining characteristic was his enthusiasm for anything related to martial arts. Learning anything he could on the subject, in particular the teachings of his idol Bruce Lee, and passing that knowledge onto anyone interested in hearing it. He also had a love for fast cars, in particular the Dodge Charger. Jon also had an appreciation for nature and love for all animals that was inspired by survivalist/writer Tom Brown, as well as having a very special bond with both his German Shepard's, Khafka and later Boaz. However, there is no question that what Jon treasured the most was the time he spent with his son, JC. JC was, and will continue to be the center of his universe.

He is survived by a son, Jon (JC) C. Gallivan, Jr., of Manchaug; his parents, Charles R. and Joyce S. (Johnson) Gallivan of Auburn; a sister, Dana L. Bolduc of Bedford, NH and a brother, Kerry D. Gallivan and his wife, Lauralee Raymond of Yarmouth, Maine; also survived by three nieces, Lauryn, Sophie, and Shanti and a nephew, Kai and JC’s mother, Lisa (Nelson) Rizzuti.

Family and close friends are invited to visit with Jon’s family on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 4-6 PM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A prayer service will begin at 6:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Auburn Youth and Family Services, 21 Pheasant Court, Auburn, MA 01501.
