Mary B.  Hennessy (Bullard)
SHREWSBURY- Mary B. (Bullard) Hennessy, 96, died March 17, 2016 in her home with family by her side.

She was born October 30, 1919, the daughter of John H. and Amy B. (Sawyer) Bullard in Canton MA. After graduating from Canton public schools she graduated from Bates College.

Subsequently working in Boston she met her future husband Dr. Robert N. Hennessy. They would move to Westboro MA to raise their family. From Westboro she was active in many civic causes including the MA Dental Society Women's Auxiliary, she was a docent at the Worcester Art Museum, and a volunteer at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology. She was a long time member of the Congregational Church of Westboro and the Mirror Lake Church in New Hampshire.

In addition she partnered with her husband to raise Arabian horses at their farm in Westboro. She was an avid bridge player, loved gardening, and was devoted to her family. She was known far and wide for her gourmet cooking and entertained friends and family frequently at her home. After leaving Westboro she spent the last 10 years living independently at the Southgate Community in Shrewsbury.

Survivors include her daughter Ananya Hixon of San Anselmo CA, son and daughter-in-law Drs. R. Brian Hennessy and Abigail Adams of Boylston MA, daughter and son-in-law Drs. Joanne and Mark Huyler of Hatfield MA, grandchildren Byron Hixon of Minneapolis MN, Adam Hixon of Portland OR, Dr. Christy Clark of Boylston MA, Christopher Huyler of Danbury NH, Annie Huyler of Hershey PA, and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be held later in the year. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Hennessy's memory may be made to the Worcester Art Museum (www.worcesterart.org) or the Mirror Lake Community Church, RR 109, Mirror Lake NH 03853.
