Condolence: I extend my most sincere condolences to Roger's entire family.
I can't remember when we first met, but I'm sure it was prior to middle school.
Roger and I had many great times together while we were both active in the Pack and Troop 53 scouting programs. One of my most memorable times was when Roger and I disregarded July's over 90 degree temperatures and high humidity while we roto-tilled and cleared a flower garden that sits beside the walkway that leads from St. Joseph's church to the parking lot. We were both dripping wet when we were through, but we got it done. A few days later, the scouts planted flowers and ground cover. The garden is still there and blooms every year.
I also appreciate the many times that Roger helped with the Relay For Life of Auburn (now Central South County). In our first year we were struggling and he stepped up to give us a big boost with his contacts and ideas.
There were many other times that our paths crossed. He was always kind, considerate, and helpful.
I have lost a friend and the town and community has lost a true gentleman and advocate, but his memory and his actions will last long into the future.
I'm sure he has found the eternal peace he deserves.

Condolence: I am heartbroken at the lost of another special Uncle. Uncle Roger had always inspired me with his positive outlook. When ever I felt down i would think of something Uncle Roger said and smile. Now another great person is in heaven. All I can say is from now on when I hear rumblings from the sky I know it will be Uncle Charlie and Uncle Roger up to their shenanigans. Love to all of you!

Condolence: After about 50+ years, my mother Delores and my wife Cindy and I were able to visit Roger, Marion and my Aunt Jeanne and their family. This was about 2+ years ago and I'm so glad we made the trip to reconnect. I was welcomed by Roger and his family with open arms. When I saw Roger, it was as if we had not missed any years. He was as I remembered over 50 years prior. We had a great connection and I felt so comfortable with his family. It was very obvious that Roger was a great man. He has spent his entire life serving his family and community. I have an everlasting respect for Roger. He fought cancer for so many years yet he held strong and was a centerpiece of his family and community. He is in God's hands now and I can only hope that when I pass, I can sit by his side. He leaves an extraordinary family which have benefited from his life. Our prayers are with his family and I know that he has a very special place with God. Our prayers will continue for all his family. Roger was truly an exceptional man for both his family and his community. He will truly be missed!
