The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Shaw can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Thinking of you both Brian and Susie. Emailed you some special words to hopefully ease the pain little. Still picturing David as a bright wee boy. May his star shine forever.

Condolence: From a book by E. A. Grollman
You had underestimated your ability to survive.
If there is darkness when you turn back,
There is still enough light
to go forward.

Death has brought you face to face
with your own mortality.
You are looking at this
irrational world
with different eyes.
You gain insights that
had previously escaped you.

David, the past isn't through with us yet.

Condolence: David, I'll always remember you when you were just very young and in diapers. I used to call you "Donald Duck butt''. And of course your favourite name for Paul was Uncle Wee Man. There are so many good memories that I know you'll be forever loved and forever remembered. We'll watch over your Mom and Dad for you.

Condolence From: Rita & Rowly
Condolence: I remember the first time we met David. He was just a baby when Susan brought him to our house in Calgary to meet Averyl & Lynn while Rowly and Brian were playing in a band. We got to see David many times over the years, but we fondly remember the time he was dancing in front of a concert band in a park - he was about 2 years old.

We are very sorry for David's untimely death. Our thoughts are with you.

Sincerely, Rowly, Rita, Averyl & Lynn

Condolence: My dear nephew, I am so sorry to have not spent more time with you. It was maybe 5 years ago or more since I last saw you. Who would know that would be the last time we spent together? Richie was lucky too, he got to see you. Jack also spent some good moments with you. I am sorry you had a short life and that you struggled with difficulties. But your parents provided you with many of lives pleasures and you have experienced many good times with family and friends. Your parents have many good memories of you and made a wonderful collage showing how well you did live. We all enjoyed viewing this wonderful collage. You will remain in our hearts forever David. You were very sweet and innocent, you will not be forgotten. Forever your Auntie and Uncle Vivian and Isaac from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Condolence: So sad about David. I only met up with him a couple of times but have very fond memories of both. We met in Atlanta for a family wedding and although I am 13 years older than David it was me who was asked for proof of age at the bar and not young David. We all met up too in Shrewsbury with Brian and Susan and had a fine day and evening with good chat, fine food, a few drinks and of course plenty of music. Rest in Peace David and love to Brian and Susan from all your family in Scotland.
