Richard J. "Dick"  Durand
Richard J. “Dick” Durand, 67, of Southbridge died Thursday, July 28, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Millette) Durand. He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1966 and then entered into the United States Army serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War.

Dick leaves his wife of 10 years, Anne C. (Pettee) Durand; his son Richard Durand and his wife Lisa of Auburn; four siblings, Joseph Durand of North Carolina, Samuel Durand of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Linda Durand, and John Durand of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; several nieces, nephews; many wonderful friends and his two dogs, Charlie and Tia. Dick was predeceased by his daughter, Janice in 2014.

Dick has worked in the Construction business all of his life, with companies such as Modern Continental Construction in Cambridge and George Cairns and Sons in Windham, NH. He retired in 2011.

Dick truly loved the outdoors and had a deep spiritual connection to nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and loved being at the ocean. He was a true and loyal Patriots fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dick’s family on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 4-7 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn followed by a prayer service at 6:45pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sterling Animal Rescue, 17 Laurelwood Rd, Sterling, MA 01564
