Helen M.  Hardy (Finnegan)
AUBURN- Helen M. (Finnegan) Hardy, 89, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 with her loving daughters by her side.

Her husband, John J. Hardy died in 1998. She leaves two daughters; Maureen Escolas and her husband Richard of Oxford and Joan Boulay and her husband Rahn of Auburn, five grandchildren; Darcy Strand and her husband Eric, John Escolas and his wife Sarah, Michael Escolas and his wife Karla, Kelly Boulay & Brian Boulay, eight greatgrandchildren; Mikayla, Amelia, Noah, Bridget, Shelby, Sean, Maeve & Jacob, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was pre-deceased by a sister; Catherine McCullough.

Helen was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas M. and Helen M. (O’Connell) Finnegan. She graduated from South High School in Worcester. She worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Co. and later as a secretary for the Worcester Public School Department for many years before retiring. Helen was a devout Catholic & proud member of Our Lady of the Angels Church for 60 years, attending daily mass and serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Her family, friends and faith brought her the most joy throughout her life. Helen was always patient with a generous heart and gentle wisdom. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale at Eddy Pond, and Notre Dame Hospice for their compassionate care and family support. A special note of gratitude to Donna & Helen’s team of daily caregivers who surrounded her with love and kindness.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Helen’s family on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 AM in BRITTON WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603 or to Auburn Youth and Family Services, 21 Pheasant Court, Auburn, MA 01501.
