Obituary for Bethany Paige Gurski (Johnson)

Bethany Paige (Johnson) Gurski, 37, of Auburn (formerly of Sutton) died Tuesday June 20, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Bethany was born in Worcester and was raised in Sutton; daughter of Thomas G. and Pamela J. (Anderson) Johnson. Bethany was home-schooled and graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with a degree in science. When Bethany was in school, she was an all star athlete on many teams. She was a soccer State Champion in 1995 where she scored the winning goal and had the tying assist.

Bethany later enrolled in the Massage Therapist Program at Central Mass School of Massage and Therapy receiving a certificate to practice. She had worked as a massage therapist for several years. Previously Bethany was a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Life Care Center in Auburn and also lent a hand in the family business POBCO in Worcester whenever she was needed.

Bethany was a kind soul who enjoyed the outdoors and nature itself. Bethany loved spending quiet time in her many gardens. She was a passionate advocate for animals and was a wonderful mother to her three amazing dogs. She also enjoyed all genres of music and had the voice of an angel.

Bethany leaves behind her husband and best friend, Eric M. Gurski; her parents, Thomas G. and Pamela (Anderson) Johnson of Sutton, MA; two sisters, Katie L. Johnson and Karin L. Johnson and her husband Keith Jacobson all of Sutton; three nephews, Gabriel, Gustaf and Blaise; two nieces, Quinn and Evangeline; in-laws, Richard and Joyce Gurski of York Beach, Maine; brother-in-law, Mark Gurski and his wife Jannelle of Pomfret, CT; Bethany’s lifelong friend, Sarah Strozina; her God parents, Alden Anderson and Sue Strozina and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service honoring Bethany’s life on Sunday June 25, 2017 at 12 NOONat Bethlehem Covenant Church, 46 Greenwood Street, Worcester, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Faith House, 142 Burncoat Street, Worcester 01606 or to New England All Breed Rescue, 330 Henshaw Street Leicester, MA.
