Evangeline E. (Hiller) Carlson, 88, of Auburn died Sunday August 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Theodore and Adelaide Hiller. She was known by family and friends as Van or Vangie.

Evangeline worked for David Clark Co’s space program, Paul Revere Insurance Company and as a Home Health Aide. In her retirement, Van was on the Auburn District Nurse Association Board of Directors, volunteered at Auburn Senior Center Blood Pressure Clinic, and was a member of the Auburn Women’s Club and Red Hats.

She was preceded by her Husband Stanley Edward Carlson and Brother Theodore Hiller, She leaves two sisters Mary Ferguson and Adelaide LaForce, her loving family, Daughter, Frances Maki and her husband Norman of Holden, Dr. Patricia Rossi and her husband Patrick of Spencer, Son, John M. Turpin and his wife Christine of Charlton, Son, James P. Turpin and his wife Anita of Auburn, Son, Joseph S. Turpin of California, Her Grand Daughter, Kymme Wood and her husband Robert of Palmer; twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Evangeline’s family on Wednesday August 23rd from 5:00-8:00 pm at the BRITTON-WALLCE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Van’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday August 24th in North American Martyr’s Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to: American Heart Association.
