Joyce H. (Gaudette) Plante, 82, of Auburn, passed on Friday August 25, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Arthur J. Plante, in 1992, and her siblings Beverly Rosson, Harold Gaudette and Howard Gaudette.

She leaves her loving companion of 16+ years Harold J. Gionet of Auburn, MA; two sons, Edwin A. McNally Jr. and his wife Patsy of Wetumpka, Al, and Peter L. McNally and his wife Deborah of Lancaster, NY; two daughters, Maureen C. Morehead and her husband Thomas of San Diego, CA, and Sharon M. Beausoleil of Worcester, MA. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 8+ great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Joyce was born in Worcester, MA on August 25, 1935, the daughter of Lucien and Hazel (Stearns) Gaudette and lived in the Worcester area all of her life. She attended Classical High School in Worcester.

Joyce worked at The College of the Holy Cross as the Banquet Manager at The Hogan Center retiring in 1992 after 30 years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, she volunteered her time at the Auburn Senior Center where she was the nutritional sight manager, volunteer team lead, and where she organized various activities for the seniors. She was a life time member of FASCA, served on the Council on Aging and was an active member of the Auburn Historical Society. She was most recently chosen to be honored at the “First Annual Community Recognition Reception” by the Auburn Board of Selectmen.

Joyce enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, crocheting and loved spending time with her family. She especially loved the month of August when she knew her children from afar would be coming to visit. She was a kind-hearted and selfless woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA from 10:00 to 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
