Obituary for Robert J. Kane

Robert J Kane, 78, of Auburn passed away on September 29, 2017 with his family by his side.

He was born in Worcester son of the late Albert J and Lila A. (Stranding) Kane of Worcester. Bob graduated from Commerce High School.

Robert leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy L. (Johnson) Kane; two children, Theresa L. wife of the late William Brower, of Auburn and John R. Kane of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Kayrin M. Brower, of Auburn, Erin Linton, wife of Jonny Linton of Chicago Ill, Kayla Kane of Plainville, MA, and Maggie Kane, of Shrewsbury, MA; two great grandchildren, Jane and Henry Linton of Chicago Ill; also survived by a brother, Albert and his wife Lois of Sterling; a special daughter in law, Patty Kane and a very close friend Jennie Watters. Robert is predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Richard and one sister, Barbara.


Bob was a proud Marine. In 1958, he was Marine of the year. He worked for Stop and Shop for 37 Years retiring as a District Manager for the Boston / Worcester area.

One of Bob’s enjoyments was playing golf and his favorite course to play was Pakachoag Golf Course in Auburn. He loved being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass celebrating Bob’s life on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at 11 am at North American Martyr’s Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn (kindly go directly to church). There are no calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date.
