Obituary for Sanford E Schulman

Sanford E Schulman 83, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his three sons, Steven A. Schulman and his wife Linda of Leicester, Mark J. Schulman of Acton and Randy W. Schulman and his wife Susan of Charlton; his daughter Kathy L. Schulman and her wife Laurie A. Costa of Bolton; his brother Leon Schulman of Shrewsbury; his sister Phyllis Solomon and her husband Bill of Jerusalem, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and countless loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife (Barbara) of 63 years in June 2017 and his sister Betty Leventhal in 2006.

Sanford was born in Worcester, son of the late David and Jennie Schulman (Kitaichik). He was a graduate of Commerce High School and Clark University. He served his country as a veteran of the US Army. He worked for many years at Thom Mcan and Digital Equipment Corporation before retiring in 1992. After retiring, he created and enjoyed a prosperous business as a QuickBooks Advisor, serving numerous small businesses in Central Mass for the next two decades.

For many years, he was a coach at the Maranville Little League, also serving as president of the league for a period of time. He was an avid runner and completed 3 marathons including the NY City Marathon in 1980. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, his much beloved sister-in-law Dorothy Landry and her husband Richard. Together, the four of them dined out across new England and traveled the country together. He took great pride in the achievements of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are Wednesday, November 15th from 4 to 7 pm at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn, MA 01501. A memorial service to celebrate San’s life will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
