Obituary for Bryan R Blanchard

AUBURN- Bryan R. Blanchard, 73, of Auburn, died after a brief illness on November 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Milford, son of the late Gordon and Fernande (Dumas) Blanchard.

He leaves his beloved wife of 47 years, Maureen (Hastings) Blanchard, his daughters Kate Buffo, Betsy Blanchard & son-in-law Aaron Panofsky, his son John Blanchard & daughter-in-law Marrianne Blanchard, and his six beloved grandchildren, Jane, Anne, Charlotte, Beatrice, Theodore and Emilia to whom he was known affectionately as Pappy.

He leaves his siblings Mike Dumas, Jeff, George and Celeste Blanchard, as well as his nieces and nephews. His brother Scott Blanchard and sister Jacquelyn Gadoury precede him in death.

A 1962 graduate of Uxbridge High School, Bryan earned a Master’s degree from Anna Maria College and worked for nearly three decades at Harrington Memorial Hospital. Bryan was a member of the Southbridge Rotary Club, serving as its president and a recognized Paul Harris Fellow. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, his greatest joys were hunting, fishing, and being with his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bryan’s family on Friday November 24, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be on Saturday November 25, 2017 with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 am in Saint John Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery, Worcester.
