Irma A. Lespasio of Shrewsbury, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 9, 2018.

Irma is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 48 years Ralph L. Lespasio; her beloved sister Linda Blair of Shrewsbury; also survived by her long-time dear friends, Dr. Debby Hazen, Ann Rudich and Lee Blake, as well as special cousins in Germany.

Irma was born in Germany daughter of the late Adolf and Afra (Schiessl) Steuer. She was educated in Germany and had been employed by the American Consulate in Germany.

When she moved to the United States she worked at the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company in Worcester for many years. In her retirement years she pursued and expanded her second career as a Commercial Artist. Her calligraphy expertise reached many local and out of state customers. Irma also found time to volunteer as the Manager of the Gift/Book Shop at the former Calvary Retreat Center in Shrewsbury.

Irma was a faithful member of Saint Mary’s Parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella, American Business Women’s Association, she was an Associate of the Passionist community, and the former Calvary Women’s Guild. She loved all types of animals and supported many shelters in the area.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Irma’s family on Friday May 11, 2018 from 5-7 PM in the BRITTON-SHERWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday May 12, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Mary’s Building Fund, 18 Summer St, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564.
