Condolences

Condolence From: John Schmidt
Condolence: I worked with Scott for several years, and he always struck me as a good man -- someone who, through his words and actions, always tried to bring a bit of lightness to a bad situation, or spread the joy of a good one. The circumstances of his life weren't always easy, but he didn't complain. Our job wasn't always easy, so he just worked harder. He had a good sense of humor about things he could've chosen to be upset about. He was dependable and kind when it would've undoubtedly been easier not to be so.

Scott showed the kind of positivity that we could all learn a bit from. My condolences to everyone who knew and loved him. I know I'll miss him too.

Condolence: Chris, I am so sorry about Scott. I only met him that one time at your Mom's, but I could tell from that meeting how much he cared about you and how much you cared about him. I hope you know if you ever need to talk, I'm here.

Condolence: Scotty was my brother at work, his being only 13 months younger than me. We came in together in February 2012, him starting a week before me. Much of my success was due to his efforts, assistance, and what he taught me. In a way, we were the Yin-Yang of our jobs as I did "systems" and he did the corresponding "software" so we needed to make sure things worked together. I sat next to him the entire time I worked with him and it was an honor and privilege. When I came in in the morning, I always knew that Scotty would tell me how the Red Sox did the night before.

Scotty, being a quietly religious man, was also a Mister Rogers for our generation. He "out-Job"ed Job.

He was and is an icon - for being calm during the storms at work and during the many trials and tribulations in his personal life.

I loved him and I will miss him to no end.
