Gloria A  Hillerstrom (Phenix)
Gloria A. (Phenix) Hillerstrom, 87, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Sister died peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She was the wife of William H. Hillerstrom with whom she shared 64 wonderful years in marriage.

In addition to her husband, Gloria leaves behind two daughters, Karen Bastien and her husband Todd Paget of Fall River, Diane Papoojian and her husband Phil of Ashburnham, a son Barry W. Hillerstrom and his wife Lamia of N. Grafton; eight grandchildren, Michael and his wife Michelle, Jason and his wife Reginia, Alex, Sarah, Nick, Mariam, Adam and Sofia; three great grandchildren, Jason, Victoria, and Will; one brother Richard Phenix of Millbury, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother Roger Phenix.

Gloria was born on November 11, 1931, daughter of the late Albert and Lucy (Goyette) Phenix and grew up in Worcester, graduating from St. Stephen’s High School. While working at Mass Electric, she met her husband Bill and in 1954 the two married. In 1962 they moved their family to Shrewsbury.

Gloria worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Hebert Candies, Ken Jones Tires, and Salisbury Nursing Home.

She was an avid reader, loved going to the movies with “the girls”, played golf in the Clearview CC Women’s League, was a member of the Red Hats Society, and the Women’s Bowling League.

There were many travels, that Gloria shared with Bill, family and friends, however Cape Cod was always her most favorite place, beginning at the family cottage in North Truro while growing up with her two brothers, and then the family home in West Hyannisport where she enjoyed many years with her family and cherished grand children
Bill and Gloria’s entire family would like to thank all of the staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence and to the VNA Hospice team.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, November 16, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM at BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury with her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
