Obituary for William John Regan Sr.

William John  Regan Sr.
AUBURN - William J. Regan Sr. of Auburn died peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Wednesday January 23rd, 2019 after a courageous battle with a long illness from the effects of Agent Orange.

Born in Cambridge, William was the son of the late James J. and Helen M (Mckenna) Regan. He was raised in Billerica where he graduated from Billerica Memorial high school in 1969 and soon after he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star with V device. He was a member of Teamsters local 379 in Charlestown, Ma.

William was a lifetime Member of the DAV and a member of Morning Star Masonic lodge in Worcester. He was a longtime friend of Bill W.

He enjoyed spending time fishing, riding his Harley, helping other veterans as well as spending time at the Vet center with friends. Survived by his wife Judith Hoyle Regan with whom he shared 29 years of marriage, William also leaves behind his children Mary Lee Regan Collins and her husband Michael of Auburn Kristen Ann Regan of Auburn, Jayme Lee Ann Regan of Auburn, Dawn Marie Edwards and her husband Stephen of Auburn, New Hampshire Melissa a Regan Rodriguez and her husband Fernando of Billerica, many grandchildren and a great grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his children Kerri Ann Regan and William J Regan Jr.

Special thanks to Brookhaven hospice and his caretakers who gave excellent care and comfort.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with William's family from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at the BRITTON -WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street Auburn Mass. A graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam MA at 9:00 AM on Thursday morning.
