Obituary for Maribeth Grampetro (Ostrom)

Maribeth Grampetro (Ostrom)
Maribeth (Ostrom) Grampetro, 60 of Auburn passed away peacefully on January 26, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 3-year battle with Brain Cancer.

She was born in New Haven, CT, daughter of Harold “Bob” Ostrom and the late Arlene M. (Kelley) Hubler who passed in 1984. Maribeth is also predeceased by her loving stepfather, Roger Hubler.

Maribeth had been employed for the past 13 years as an Adoption/Vet Tech Assistant at the Auburn Animal Hospital, until April 2018 when she could no longer work due to her illness. Previously, she had worked at Fitzy’s Deli in Auburn for 12 years - a job she loved and a place where she made lifelong friends.

Maribeth loved spending time outdoors, whether it was a walk on a beach in Maine, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events on Cape Cod or fine tuning her manicured lawn. She had a deep devotion to all animals, but was particularly fond of her granddogs and grandcats. She was always willing to lend an ear to those who needed support and was quick to offer a witty joke in a serious situation.

Maribeth leaves her husband of 26 years, Dominick Grampetro; her children, Jennifer L. Jaroszuk and her fiancée Elizabeth Siviski of Falmouth, ME and Gregory K. Jaroszuk and his wife Karen of Sandwich, MA; two grandchildren, Kody and Kailyn; a brother, John R. Hubler and his partner Kathy Jones of Charlton; sister-in-law, Lisa M. Grampetro and her wife, Julia E. Sullivan of Charlton; her devoted best friend, Donna “Bun” Lancey of Oxford and Gretlyn Jaroszuk of Auburn who was like a second mother to her. She will be sorely missed by countless other family members and friends and her “furever” children Dora Lee and Gabriel.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4-7pm. at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the ALS Association (www.alsa.org).
