Obituary for Lori Ann Frankian

Lori Ann Frankian
Lori A. Frankian, a Fenway resident since 1989 passed with her family and best friend by her side on January 28th, 2019 after a private, longtime battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She was 52 years old. She leaves behind her mother Janice Ritz Fiske and husband David Fiske of Milbury; her brother Brett Frankian, sister-in-law Kara; two beloved nephews Tanner and Riley of Shrewsbury and loving cat Zaylah. LORI was born December 2nd, 1966 in Worcester, Massachusetts to her mother Janice and father Robert Frankian, who predeceased her in November 1997.

Known as "The Queen", LORI certainly earned her title over the past 30 years as a Bostonian, involving her heart and soul in a number of passions during her busy lifetime. She resided in the Fenway and amassed quite a presence and fan base between her neighborhood advocacy work and her love for spending hot summer nights over at Fenway Park. LORI, a sun-goddess through and through, spent her most cherished time during the summer months in South Boston soaking up the sun at "LORI's Landing" (N Street Beach) and maintaining yet another presence that was seasonally expected! LORI's love and passion for music was apparent as a 30 year veteran of the Boston Rock n' Roll scene.

LORI, a professionally and socially active woman, was known throughout the entire city of Boston, whether supporting Theatre, working on Film projects, as New England's only Business Consultant for Actors, or advocating for children in foster care and Boston's large homeless community, her affection for living life and her loving presence filled the city streets and pierced the hearts of anyone she met. LORI's true passion was her work as a Volunteer Case Reviewer for the Department of Children and Families for over 6 years, which filled her with more joy than she could ever express. She loved her role as a voice for Foster Children fighting to ensure their needs, personal safety and goals were being met. Her Homeless Street Outreach and loyal association with The New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans touched the lives of veterans on indescribable levels. Forever their "Angel", LORI lifted the spirits of countless men and women who looked to her for inspiration, guidance and wisdom.

LORI was a highly regarded member of the Boston Theatre and Film community. Her resume includes work as an Independent Casting Director for Industrials, Commercials, Theatre and Indie Film Features. As an Actor, LORI auditioned for work in her beloved New York City where she had numerous "almosts" as an actor and enjoyed modeling. LORI was featured on Chronicle, received a Personal Achievement Award from The Muscular Dystrophy Association, Hosted That Takes Ovaries events, worked on local TV spots and performed on stage throughout Boston. Her most notable role was the lead in The Women on Top Festival's, The Me in the Mirror. LORI portrayed Ms. Connie Panzario, a successful artist, author and activist who lived with a severe form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a challenge both women carried off with grace. LORI's local on-camera work includes Spencer for Hire, The Next Karate Kid IV and Against the Law.

LORI will "Forever & Always" be remembered as the biggest, most loyal and supportive fan of those she loved, be it her mother, her mother's husband, brother, sister-in-law, two nephews or the many dear friends she treasured over the years. To know LORI was to know what true, unconditional love felt like. She had a unique way of making people open their eyes to see and appreciate the little things that are normally taken for granted.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 4th from 5p-8p with a brief memorial service beginning at 8p at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home 648 Main Street Shrewsbury, MA 01545. A private burial service will follow Tuesday at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in LORI's name to The Muscular Dystrophy Association (www.mda.org).

A memorial service will be held in Boston at a future date to reminisce and celebrate LORI's extraordinary and miraculous life; all are welcome.
