Obituary for Jerry E Goss
Jerry E. Goss, 83, of Shrewsbury died Saturday February 9, 2019 at the Oasis at Dodge Park with his loving family by his side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease
Jerry was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma son of the late Cecil and Beatrice E. (Curran) Goss. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and later continuing his education at Syracuse University where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Being from the Midwest his value for land and a solid work ethic lead him to operate a 500-acre angus beef cattle farm along side his loving wife and three children while also being an electrical engineer for IBM.
When Jerry had down time, he enjoyed fishing, canoeing, woodworking, rebuilding jeeps and VW bugs, skiing, crossword puzzles, history and he mastered sailing.
Jerry’s love of his life for 58 years, Vicki-Lou (Basham) Goss died in 2016. He leaves his daughter, Sandra Travers and her husband John of Shrewsbury and their children, Sean, Meghan and Devin Travers; two sons, Chad Goss and his wife Katy of North Hampton, NH and their children, Patrick, Nathan and Adam Goss, and Mark Goss and his wife Luci of Evergreen Colorado and their children, Elizabeth, William and Victoria Goss.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated privately for Jerry’s family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury is directing arrangements for the Goss family.
