Gayle Virginia (Schonbeck) Magwood, 81, passed away comfortably after a brief illness with all her family by her side on Monday, May 13th, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 42 years, Richard E. Magwood; her brother Gary Schonbeck and is survived by her daughters, Deborah Robinson and her husband Robert of Cambridge, Vermont, Joanne Lavallee and her husband Phillip of Spencer, Massachusetts and Nancy Mingolla of Auburn, Massachusetts.

She is also survived by five grandsons, Heath Robinson and his wife Lauren; Dustin Robinson and his wife Gabrielle; Kasey Lavallee and his wife Meaghen; Kolby Lavallee and his wife Mallory; Michael Mingolla; and 8 wonderful great grandchildren.
Gayle was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Gustave and Shirley (Schwager) Schonbeck. She was a graduate of Auburn High School and retired after a long management career at Sears, Roebuck & Company.

She was an accomplished artist and wood carver. She displayed her works of art annually and was a two-time competitor in the National Duck Stamp Contest taking third place in one of the events. She was a member and past officer of the Massasoit Art Guild. She served two terms on the Planning Board, and several terms on the Board of Health in East Brookfield.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, May 16 at 11:00 AM at the Charlton Baptist Church, 50 Hammond Hill Road, Charlton, MA. Interment will be at a later date. Britton-Wallace Funeral Home in Auburn is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you kindly consider making memorial donations in Gayle's name to the Massasoit Art Guild, 108 School Street, P.O. Box 14, East Brookfield, MA, 01515.
