Obituary for Robert A. "Bob" Budzyna
Robert A. “Bob” Budzyna, 76, of Auburn, died peacefully on Sunday October 20, 2019 at Life Care Center of Auburn.
Born and raised in Worcester, Bob was the son of Theodore P. and Ruth M. (Catrell) Budzyna. He was educated in Worcester as well, graduating from North High School in 1961. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 1964, where he served as a Sergeant for the next six years. Bob always expressed a deep appreciation for and fascination with cars, working in the automotive industry for over forty years. He dedicated twenty years of his career to Crown Chevrolet in Framingham, and spent the last fifteen years before his retirement as an owner and operator of a private dealership in Auburn.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jane P. Tinsley-Budzyna, his son, Robert T. Budzyna of Auburn; his siblings, Theodore Budzyna, John Budzyna and his wife Paula, Edward Budzyna, Cathy Paretti, and Marion Budzyna-Tedeschi. Bob had many memorable times with his sister-in-law Peggy Budzyna and his extended family which included Shelley Hamm Moylan and her sons Donald and Joshua, Elizabeth and Brian Budzinski and their children Ella and Joe and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brother, the late Lt. Col. Fred Budzyna.
His family would like to thank Donna Eichholz for all the love and care given to Bob over the years. They would also like to thank many caregivers from UMASS, Dana Farber, Fairlawn Rehabilitation and Auburn Life Care Center. Also Bob’s friend Jean Frankian never missed a birthday in 50 years.
Bob loved animals and especially his dog Buddy. Bob and Buddy made many friends on Facebook who also loved their pets and wanted to share pictures and stories.
Bob was an outstanding athlete in his day, playing softball, football, and basketball throughout Worcester County. He played local and state championships for over twenty years. Bob also loved golf and once carried a single digit handicap, of which he was so proud.
All services for Bob will be held privately, at the request of his family. In lieu of flowers, please pass on an act of kindness.
