Obituary for Robert L. Lacouture
Robert L. Lacouture, 67, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 2020.
Born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, Bob was one of six children born to Jacqueline R. (Leonard) Lacouture and the late Alphonse L. Lacouture, Jr. He was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School, prior to attending and graduating from Fitchburg State University, where he received a B.S. degree in Special Education and subsequently taught in Worcester for many years. Most recently, Robert worked as a Correctional Officer and a Lab Technician at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert loved his family, the ocean, trips to Florida with his mother, music, cycling and relaxing at his seasonal cottage in Fitzwilliam, NH. Children brought him great joy and he was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Along with his mother, Jackie, Bob is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Tayler; his sons, Jeremy Lacouture, Jonathan Lacouture, both of Worcester, and James Lacouture and his wife, Audrey, of Hingham; his stepson, Alexander Tayler, of Worcester; his brothers, Bradley of Westport, Stephen of Yuba City, CA, Wayne of Westport, Scott and his wife, Maggie of Dover, NH, and Kevin and his wife, Pat of Worcester; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Bob was predeceased by his sister, Brenda Christine Lacouture.
