Obituary for Ronald R. "Ron" Valerio
Ronald R. “Ron” Valerio, 68, well-loved Auburn resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his beloved wife of 45 years, LuAnn E. (Papagni) Valerio; his loving daughters, Stephanie L. Gaffney and her husband, Steven, and Lynn A. Mahoney and her husband, Sean, all of Auburn; his grandchildren: Mia and Vienna Gaffney, Owen and Charlotte Mahoney; his siblings: Rosemarie Gonzalez, of Worcester, and Kenneth Valerio, of Auburn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, the late Frank A. Valerio, Jr. and Evelyn G. (Power) Valerio, Ron was predeceased by three siblings: the late Sandy Valerio, Frank A. Valerio, III, and Wendy Moss.
He was born and raised in Worcester, first graduating from South High School, and later receiving his BA from Worcester State University. Ron went on to achieve his MBA from Anna Maria College, in Paxton. He worked as Senior Manager for UFP Technologies in Georgetown, where he dedicated over 30 years of leadership and hard work.
Ron was passionate about politics and dedicated his entire adulthood to serving the Democratic Party. His lifetime record as a Democrat is most accomplished, culminating with his recent appointment to the Massachusetts Electoral College.
Ron was well-known for his community involvement in the Town of Auburn, the City of Worcester, and throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He participated in many civic groups, advocated for local organizations and was as a leader to numerous boards and committees.
Ron enjoyed time spent on the golf course, with his golfing buddies, and at the family’s South Yarmouth Cape House. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren and the precious moments they spent together.

Services and burial will be held privately for Ron’s family, due to current COVID-19 restrictions. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when it is safe to gather. The BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, Auburn is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
