Olive J. (Cunningham) McManus, 91, of Auburn, and formerly of Leicester and Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester. She was the loving wife of the late Martin S. McManus, Sr., who passed in 2015.

She leaves two children, Karen Perrone and her husband Jim, of Warwick, RI, and Martin McManus, Jr. and his wife Sue, of Palm Coast, FL; and her grandchildren: Sean McManus and his wife Amanda of Bellevue, NE, and Erin McManus and her fiancé Brandon Autry, of Palm Coast, FL.

Olive was born in Worcester and raised in Oxford; only child of the late Frederick B. and Ora D. (Beaucage) Cunningham. She graduated from Oxford High School, Class of 1947. She married her beloved Martin in September of 1950, and they settled in Worcester to raise their family.

For many years she sang with The Murray Broder Troup, a group of volunteer entertainers who performed weekly variety shows at hospitals, nursing homes and elder living sites.

Olive bowled in leagues at Auburn Ten Pin Lanes from the 1960’s into the 1980’s. Most recently, she was a member of candlepin leagues at Bayberry Lanes in Spencer and Colonial Lanes in Worcester.

Olive also golfed in leagues for many years, mainly at Leicester and Hillcrest Country Clubs in Leicester.

Active in the church for many years, she was in the choirs of St. Catherine of Sweden in Worcester and North American Martyrs in Auburn. For the past many years, she volunteered at the New 2 You Thrift Shop at St. Joseph-St. Pius X in Leicester.

In an abundance of caution and respect for the health and safety of family and friends, there will be no calling hours or services. The family requests that fond memories be shared in the Guest Book. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, Auburn, is honored to be assisting with arrangements.

To Olive's Family:
I golfed with Olive for many years at Leicester and marveled at her record keeping she did for us. Lucky for us she loved to work with figures for our benefit. We also bowled in a league for many years at Colonial Candle Pin and she was hard to beat. She was also blessed with a beautiful singing voice she shared for many events.
Rest in Peace Olive.

Dear family, I am so sorry to hear of Olive's passing. I bowled with Olive at
Colonial bowl and golfed with her at Leicester for many years.
She always did the sweeps for us at Colonial and was a pleasure to work with.

Dear Family of Olive,
Although I did not know Olive for very long, we became fast friends. She was sociable and friendly, always with a kind word to share.
She loved playing Wii bowling and cornhole with the others at Eddy Pond and she was quite good at her game! I will miss her.
