Obituary for Elizabeth L "Betty" Marston (Dean)
Elizabeth “Betty” L. Marston, 83, a resident of Northborough, passed away on February 3, 2021 after a brief stay in the hospital.
Born in Holden on October 25, 1937 to Edward S. Dean and Alice (Geer) Dean, Betty graduated from the former Major Howard W. Beal High School in 1957. She kept in touch with her classmates through the years and enjoyed attending several of their high school reunions.
Betty married Donald T. Marston on April 24, 1965. Within six years, they had a son and then a daughter.
She was a member of the St. Mary’s Church Choir as well as the St. Mary’s Women’s Guild in Shrewsbury. She was also a member of the St. Rose’s Women’s Club, Northborough Community Chorus and the Northborough Garden Club. Betty was also a member of the YMCA for several years.
Betty enjoyed being an Avon Representative and sold Avon for over 30 years. She loved making acquaintances as well as friends by doing so over the years.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 35 years. She leaves her son Randall of Northborough; her daughter Donna (Marston) Hart and son-in-law Dennis Hart of Kansas; her brother Robert S. Dean and sister-in-law Carol A. Dean of Wesley Chapel, Florida; in-laws Elinor and Ed Marston and Marion and Bill Marston as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews across the country.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org/donate).
Calling hour will be held privately. Relatives are invited to attend the funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. The Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
