Obituary for Adelinde "Linda" Blair (Steuer)

Adelinde “Linda” (Steuer) Blair, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 4, 2021, after a short illness.

Linda is predeceased by her beloved sister Irma Lespasio and brother-in-law, Ralph. She is survived by her dear sister-in law Bebe McKim, special friends Marie and Don Gray and Imelda Landry, and very special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by very dear and special cousins in Germany her beloved companion and best Friend, Raymond Lepore.

Linda was born in Germany to the late Adolf and Afra Steuer. After education in Germany, Linda married James A. Blair and came to America in 1950. Her beloved husband Jimmy predeceased Linda in 2007 after 57 years of marriage.

In 1954 Linda started employment at the Ruge DeForrest Company, later known as BLH Electronics, where she was a supervisor. She retired from BLH in 2003 after 49 years in a job she loved. Linda was a member of the BLH Management Club, ABWA Business Women’s Association, Blackmore Pond Association, Germania Social Club of Worcester and German American Foundation. She was a longtime friend and supporter of the Worcester County Shrine Club and the Springfield Hospital, a member of the former Calvary Women’s Guild, and a member of Friends of the Shrewsbury Senior Center. Linda worked many years as a volunteer at the Calvary Retreat Center of Shrewsbury as Co-Manager of the Gift/ Book Shop.

Linda loved all types of animals and over the years has contributed to many shelters. She could often be found enjoying nature and caring for creatures in her back yard.

Memorial donations may be made to the Worcester County Shrine Club (WCSC) Transportations Fund or to an animal shelter of your choice.

A visiting hour for Linda will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Thursday, April 8th at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 AM and burial at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
