Obituary for Edward F. "Ed" Kulig

Edward F. “Ed” Kulig, 93, of Auburn, a toolmaker and U.S. Marine WWII Veteran, died on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 at UMASS Memorial – University Campus.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Helen J. (Kusy) Kulig; their daughters, Stephanie M. Brady and her husband Michael, of Auburn, and Karen A. Brady and her husband Paul, of Millbury; three grandchildren, David A. Brady, Christopher R. Bolton, and Michael E. Bolton; and fifteen great-grandchildren, whom he adored. His granddaughter Leanne E. Brady predeceased him in June 2020.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late John J. Kulig and Helen (Banach) Kulig. His sister Irene Pietrzak, and brothers, Stanley, John, and Richard Kulig predeceased him.

Ed was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in WWII, stationed in China.
He worked as a toolmaker at Wyman Gordon for 17 years, retiring in 1979.

Ed loved deep-sea fishing, in his boat, the ‘Helena J,’ vacationing in Ft. Myers, FL, gardening, and Foxwoods. He loved to tinker - if something broke, he could fix it.
Most of all, Ed will be remembered for his zest for life.
