Obituary for Barbara Ann "Barbie" Norman
Barbara Ann “Barbie” Norman, 84, of North Smithfield, RI and formerly of Millbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Oakland Grove Nursing Home in Woonsocket, RI.
She leaves her loving companion, and caretaker of thirteen years, William E. Linback, of North Smithfield; her siblings, Nancy Lee Sarkisian, of Auburn, and Francis L. Norman, Jr. and his wife Katherine, of Millbury, as well as her niece, Sheri Lee Sarkisian and her husband Mark Hauser; great-nephews, Wesley Hauser and Dean Hauser; and great-niece, Sheridan Hauser, all of New York City.
Barbie was born in Worcester and raised in Millbury, born to the late Francis L. Norman, Sr. and Anne (Zemaitis) Norman. She was a graduate of Millbury Memorial High School, and took classes at the Worcester Art Museum. When she was young, she worked as Secretary for Rockwood Sprinkler Company in Worcester. Barbie moved down to Rhode Island and began her life there, working for Family Services of RI.
In her free time, she loved painting and was quite the artist, loved dancing, attending yard sales every Saturday morning with her parents. She also owned her own shop, Barbie’s Alterations.
A graveside service will be held privately for her family – the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
