Obituary for Winifred A. "Winnie" King

Winifred A. (Dacri) King, 79, of Auburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 11, 2022.

Winnie was born in Worcester and grew up on Grafton Hill. She graduated from Girls Trade High School, with a major in sewing. Winnie was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Parish in Worcester, where she was passionately involved in volunteering. She volunteered at the school when her children were young, taught CCD, helped at the thrift store, lectured, was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Legion of Mary, led the rosary prayers and attended daily Mass.

Later in life, Winnie moved to Auburn, where she remained passionate in her devotion to the church. There, she lectured, attended daily Mass, and made rosary beads for the Handmaids of Mary Rosary Ministry. Winnie was happiest when she was serving God.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Vincent P. King, 3 daughters: Kristine King and her partner Fred Robinson of Auburn, Karen Farrington of North Brookfield, Kathi Giumentaro and her husband Joe of Worcester, and one son, John King and his wife Charity of Worcester. She also leaves her brother, Butch Dacri and his wife Kathy, along with 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 nephews.
