Obituary for Deborah "Debbie" Virgilio (Farnum)

Deborah “Debbie” (Farnum) Virgilio, lifelong Auburn resident, died on Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home after an illness. She was predeceased by her husband, John L. “Jack” Virgilio, in 2020.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Varney) Ellis; her step-son, David Virgilio; her grandchildren: Katherine (Ellis) Stuart, Scott Ellis, Craig Ellis, Matthew Virgilio, and Callie Virgilio; three great-grandchildren, Violet Stuart, Charles Stuart, and Leona Ellis.

Debbie was born in Worcester to the late Earl W. and Marion (Kingdon) Farnum. She was a graduate of Auburn High School and Lasell University in Auburndale. Debbie attended Ward Airline School as well. She worked at Wyman-Gordon for many years, but being a full-time homemaker was what she truly enjoyed.

In her free time, she enjoyed antiquing, golfing, and restoring her 19th century home. Debbie also loved cooking (especially Italian food) and boating with her husband in the Narragansett Bay.

Her family would like to thank her dear friend, Donna Gaulin, for her constant companionship and care of Debbie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Debbie’s memory may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit between 10 and 11 AM on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA. Her funeral service will be held at 11, and burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
